Line Striping for Parking Lots and Facility Interiors
Striping is the cheapest signage a property owns and the first thing that makes a building look neglected when it fades. Chroma Coatings provides interior and exterior line striping for commercial, industrial, retail, medical, and institutional properties across North Carolina and the East Coast.

Exterior Parking Lot Striping
Most of our striping work happens in parking lots, where markings direct traffic, define capacity, and carry legal requirements.
What We Stripe
- Standard and compact parking stalls
- ADA accessible stalls, access aisles, and van accessible spaces with proper signage layout
- Fire lanes and no parking zones
- Directional arrows, stop bars, and crosswalks
- Loading zones, curbside pickup, and reserved spaces
- Curb painting and bollard marking
- Electric vehicle charging spaces
ADA and Fire Code Compliance
Accessible stall dimensions, access aisle placement, ratios by lot size, and fire lane marking are governed by requirements that get enforced during inspections. We lay out to current standards and flag existing conditions that no longer comply, which is a conversation most property owners would rather have from their striping contractor than from an inspector.
Interior Safety Markings
Inside a facility, striping is a safety system. In Industrial buildings where forklift traffic and foot traffic share the same floor, markings are what keep them separated.
- Designated pedestrian walkways and crossings
- Forklift and equipment travel lanes
- Staging, storage, and inventory zones
- Machine safety perimeters and clearance zones
- Hazard, caution, and restricted area markings
- Fire extinguisher, exit path, and eyewash station markings
- Warehouse aisle and dock numbering
Interior markings are applied with coatings selected for the floor and the traffic on it, including epoxy and urethane systems that hold up under constant forklift wear. See our Epoxy page for full floor systems.
Layout Before Application
The value in a striping job is decided before any paint is applied. For exterior work we evaluate lot dimensions, drainage, traffic flow, and stall count to maximize capacity while meeting code. For interior work we walk the floor with your operations and safety leads so the layout reflects how material actually moves through the building rather than how the drawing assumed it would.
Restriping and Surface Preparation
Faded striping is straightforward to refresh. Changing a layout is not, because old lines have to be removed rather than covered. We handle removal through grinding or abrasive methods so ghost lines do not confuse drivers or forklift operators. Surfaces are cleaned and swept before application, and we schedule around weather and cure time on exterior work.
Scheduling Around Your Operation
Parking lots have to be closed to be striped, and few businesses can give up their lot during the day. We stripe at night, on weekends, and in phased sections so a portion of the lot always stays open. Chroma Coatings operates 24 hours, which is why property managers with tenants keep this work with us.
