Commercial Epoxy Flooring and Protective Coatings

Everybody sells epoxy. Very few install it correctly. The failures we get called to repair are almost never product failures. They are moisture that was never tested for, concrete that was never mechanically profiled, mil thickness that was guessed at, or a cure schedule that got compressed because the building needed to open.

Chroma Coatings installs epoxy systems in commercial, industrial, medical, and residential settings across North Carolina and the East Coast, and we do the unglamorous parts of the process the way they are supposed to be done.

Epoxy Flooring

Warehouses, Kitchens, Clean Rooms & Garages

Where Epoxy Earns Its Cost

Automotive Dealerships and Service Bays

Showroom floors that read as clean and premium, and service bays that survive oil, brake fluid, hot tires, and lifts. The same building, two very different systems.

Restaurants and Commercial Kitchens

Seamless, sanitary, and slip resistant. Epoxy has no grout lines for grease and bacteria to occupy, and it stands up to daily wash down and hot water.

Medical Facilities and Clean Rooms

Nonporous surfaces give bacteria nowhere to live, which makes epoxy a natural fit for surgical suites, labs, pharmacy compounding areas, and clean rooms. Seamless cove base transitions eliminate the floor to wall joint entirely. See our Medical page.

Warehouses and Manufacturing Floors

Forklift traffic, pallet impact, and chemical exposure destroy sealed concrete. High build epoxy and urethane systems carry the load and keep dusting under control. See our Industrial page.

Parking Garages and Structures

Traffic bearing membrane systems protect the structural slab from water and chloride intrusion while giving you a surface that stripes cleanly.

Why Epoxy Outperforms Sealed Concrete

Epoxy is nonporous, which means spills sit on top instead of soaking in and germs have no surface to hold onto. It resists chemicals that etch bare concrete, it takes impact and abrasion without spalling, it cleans with standard equipment, and a properly installed system measured in years outlasts a sealer measured in months. It also comes in a range of colors, flakes, and finishes, so a floor that has to be durable does not have to look industrial.

Our Installation Process

01

Evaluate Concrete Condition and Moisture

We test moisture vapor emission and assess the slab before quoting. Moisture is the single most common cause of epoxy failure, and it is invisible until the coating lifts.

02

Mechanical Surface Preparation

Diamond grinding or shot blasting to open the concrete and create the profile the system requires. Acid etching is not an equivalent, and we do not treat it as one.

03

Crack and Joint Repair

Cracks, spalls, and control joints are repaired and treated so they do not telegraph through the finished floor.

04

Specify Mil Thickness to the Environment

Thickness is engineered to the traffic, chemical exposure, and impact the floor will actually see, then verified during application.

05

Application and Cure Management

Controlled application with temperature, humidity, and cure time managed. We tell you the real return to service window and hold to it.

Line Striping and Safety Markings

Aisle striping, forklift lanes, equipment zones, pedestrian walkways, and hazard markings applied in coatings rated for the floor. See Line Striping.

Residential Garage and Interior Floors

We install decorative flake and polyaspartic garage floor systems for homeowners throughout the greater Triangle area. See our Residential page.

Every floor starts with the slab. Let us test it, look at your traffic, and specify a system that lasts.
